About Rosy James
Rosy James has been painting since the final year of her Degree in Fashion & Textile Design, when she progressed from surface pattern prints to focus on Textile Art, producing work for which she was selected to exhibit at the New Designers Exhibition in London, the annual national graduate show for best of year designers.
Always experimenting and developing new approaches to her work, Rosy’s paintings are unique, intriguing and evocatively expressive. Resonating with her audience on many different levels, she gives the viewer a visual and a tactile experience that derives both from her spiritual and emotional connection with colour, and the psychological connections she makes with colour in her life. Her work is also a record of experimental processes through which the sensuality of paint and the use of Colour as a tool are explored. Fascinated by the diverse, complex, multi-faceted nature and phenomenon of Colour, Rosy explores her world and her emotions through abstract and personal associations with the spectrum.
Rosy combines her passion for colour and love of textured surfaces to produce bold and original paintings, both landscape and abstract, attracting private and corporate commissions.
She has successfully exhibited in solo and group shows, has participated in public art events, and has collaborated with other artists to create a multi-disciplined exhibition of her poetry inspired series,
